Maintenance Day
The first Saturday in May and it was time for the orchard to have a first major maintenance day of the year. We had a tremendous turnout from the volunteers and our thanks go to everyone who turned up.
Benches
Let’s start with a big “Thank You” for everyone who turned up today to put the benches into the Orchard.
Tree planting March 2014
On Saturday, 8 March we were finally able to plant our next twelve trees, having previously been delayed a month by heavy rain and water-logged ground. Prior to the planting day, we had marked out the tree positions and put down two loads of woodchip to create a dry path to the Orchard swing gate.
We have boundaries
Over December 6th and 7th boundary work on the orchard was completed thanks to a large and coordinated community effort.
Orchard hedging
Thanks to a lot of time, effort, and generosity from all at Chivers Farms – particularly Phil Scott – we have most of the boundary fence up around the orchard.
