Over the winter months children from the Junior School had been growing wild flowers from seeds planted in trays. This was the morning that their work came to fruition as those seedlings were planted out in the orchard.
Children from the Infant School had been growing wild flowers from seeds in trays over the winter. 30 children with their teacher Marisa Ray and helpers brought the plants they had grown and planted them in a plot on the east side of the Community Orchard.
Great work by volunteers from GE Energy, who planted a native hedge along the orchard boundary nearest the guided busway. The hedge plants were provided by the Woodland Trust and include hawthorn, blackthorn, hazel, silver birch, rowan, common oak and elm.
