Boundary marking

On October 20th, a small group of us headed down to the orchard site to mark out the boundary for the forthcoming hedging and fencing work scheduled to take place in November.

Using some very basic materials (wooden pegs, string, and a couple of 30m tapes) we established the outline of the orchard, which we then marked with line marking paint and a series of bamboo canes.

As happens just about every time we see the full extent of the area, we were struck by just how large it is – and very pleased that Chivers Farms have agreed to rotovate the boundary before we plant the hedge.
