On Saturday 26th January between 10am and 3pm, the HICOP stall was at Science Saturday at the Junior School. The theme was wildlife and traditionally-managed orchards. We had our information display unit and a variety of orchard-related activities for all ages, including quizzes, apple tasting and printing with apples.
The HICOP Apple table was a great success with lots of children trying the “who lives in an orchard” quiz. There were various other activities including identifying different types of apples. Parents showed much interest in the coming planting of the first trees next month, and a number also signed up for the restorative pruning workshop on 10th February.
We were very pleased to have been invited and look forward to future events to which we can contribute.
